Founded in 2025 by Audrey Philpot and Anna Stump, the 29 Palms Music Committee was created with a bold goal: to bring a Levitt AMP Music Series to Twentynine Palms. With fiscal sponsorship secured through Basin Wide Foundation, the committee applied for funding from the Levitt Foundation’s highly competitive Levitt AMP grant program.

Out of more than 300 applicants nationwide, Twentynine Palms advanced to the Top 100 and entered a public voting round that required cities to rally community support through text-in votes. Through grassroots campaigning, local advocacy, and strong partnerships with area musicians and supporters, the community rose to the challenge. Twentynine Palms finished 12th in the nation, earning full grant funding.

With additional support from Visit29 and the City of Twentynine Palms, and in collaboration with Basin Wide Foundation and the Levitt Foundation, the 29 Palms Music Committee proudly launched the Levitt AMP Twentynine Palms Music Series — a three-year concert series bringing 10 free, family-friendly concerts each year to the Freedom Plaza stage.
